Let their be light 

Natural light is way more important than you might think in offices and other workspaces. A lot of businesses use harsh artificial light which has known to cause migraines, low mood and general feelings of uneasiness, which is pretty demoralising, to say the least. Natural light, on the other hand, is ideal because it can help to make people feel more upbeat, productive and less like a cog in a machine, So if you can, ensure your workspace has plenty of windows and as much natural light as possible.

Allow for privacy

Open plan office spaces have been popular with businesses for a while now because they make it easier for employees to collaborate, which as you probably know is a great way to increase innovation. However, if you want to keep your employees happy, you need to enable them to have their own private space where they can retreat, focus and feel like they aren’t being watched or micromanaged every second of the day. You can do this by including moveable screens and cubicles in your workspace if you want to have the best of both worlds and allow for both privacy and collaboration.

Provide information

Employees will feel more secure in their work and their workspace if they have all the information they could possibly need at their fingertips, which is why your office space should not be scared of signs. From posters telling them what to do in case of an emergency to a list of important phone numbers telling them who to call if there’s an IT issue or even if you need an emergency repair of your automatic door, the more information there is in plain sight the better. Obviously, you don’t need to go overboard and end up infantilising them, but giving them the information will encourage independence which is great for employees’ sense of self-worth in the workplace.

Plant power

Plants have been shown to have a calming effect, boost productivity and helo to improve moods of those working in offices, and of course, they’re just nice to look at. So, if you want to keep your staff, happy, healthy and working hard, it is a really good idea to place as much greenery around the workplace as you can manage.

Ergonomic is ideal

When it comes to office furniture, always plump for ergonomic designs that will support your employee’s bodies as they work hard for you. Good furniture can prevent back and neck problems, which will means fewer sick days and happier, healthier employees.
