Thinking Outside Of The HR Box

Do you know what “thinking outside the box” means or to what it refers?

Most of us have a vague idea at least of what it means.

Patricia Alexander defines thinking outside the box as:

Thinking outside the box entails a thinking process, which comprehends the implementation of an unusual approach to the logical thinking structure. It's a procedure which aims to escape relational reasoning and thinking.

Also thinking out of the box or thinking beyond the box, is a metaphor that means to think differently, unconventionally, or from a new perspective. [Wikipedia]

This phrase often refers to novel or creative thinking.

So often we are taught how to do things one way, that we think it is the only way it can be done.  We have been trained to function that way, so it just becomes the norm for us.

When we think outside of the box, it is asking us to do things differently – not the same way that we have done things in the past.

It wants us to see things from a different point of view.

Doing so will broaden your creativity and thinking skills.

So – do things differently and “think outside of the box”!
