Roles That Will Provide You With Job Security

The 2020 coronavirus and Covid-19 pandemic is something that has changed the majority of our lives in significant ways. The pandemic has caused all sorts of changes to day to day life that the majority of us would have never expected and were generally unprepared for. Of course, vaccines are now being rolled out, but we’re yet to see their effects and we’re unsure as to how long changes to society and the way that we operate will last going forward.

So, it’s not all too surprising that many of us are considering switching career roles to gain jobs that will provide us with a little security right now. Over the past year and a half, work has proven difficult for many of us. Not only for fear of contracting the virus, but many businesses have struggled and collapsed.

There have been mass redundancies alongside this, meaning widespread unemployment. On top of this, those who have maintained their roles may have been given reduced working hours or reduced salaries.

If you’re looking for a job that will provide you with a good and secure income, what fields or industries should you be looking into entering? Here are a few that you might want to take into consideration!

Remote Positions

Many jobs are still able to continue thriving, as long as the team can work well on a remote basis. This means that many office based jobs are still secure and their staff members are getting by just fine.

Positions like copywriter, admin, customer service and product managers with product manager salaries are still very viable options.

Healthcare

A field with pretty high demand right now is healthcare. Demand for more workers in this huge industry is significantly increasing as need for healthcare is growing as a direct result of the pandemic. At the end of the day, people will always need healthcare, so there will likely always be roles available.

Plus, once you’re in the job, you’re likely to be set for life if you wish to continue on this path. Positions you might want to consider could include becoming a doctor, nursing, surgery, psychology, psychiatry, dentistry, occupational health and more. Of course, these all require long educational qualifications and continued training, so make sure that you’re fully committed before delving in!

The Funeral Industry

Unfortunately, another industry that is always going to be in demand, and that has seen increased demand throughout the pandemic, is the funeral industry.

Of course, this field isn’t suited to everyone, as it’s a highly emotional environment and you will be surrounded by sadness and grief. However, it can also be deeply rewarding, as you’re helping people in their greatest time of need by working in this sector.

There are all sorts of roles within this industry, ranging from a funeral director to an embalmer, receptionist, hair and make up, grave diggers and more.

While there are countless industries out there that are still getting by, some of those highlighted above could help to get the ball rolling. Hopefully, some of the ideas put forward will inspire you and help you into a new career that will provide you with a whole lot more stability.
