Are Your Ready For Your First Recruitment Drive?

Running a company can come with a lot of different responsibilities. Not only do you need to ensure that you are serving your customers well, but you need to be able to turn a profit too. And this can mean that your attention needs to be in the right places, at the right times.

You cannot always think about your own needs and wants. Instead, you need to keep key things in mind that are going to allow you to drive the business in the best possible direction.

This is why it’s always a good idea to be able to reinvest as much money as possible BACK into the business, as often as you can. It can be tough. When you’re dying to take a salary and benefit from the fruits of your labors. But, if you know that you want to get your business to a certain point, investment is key.

One of the best areas you can invest in is your team. And you know that. Because a company is only ever as good as its people. Your company is only an idea. It’s the people that drive it, that build it, that put the work into making IT work that matter. So if you are not investing in these areas, you are missing out. And you are leaving a ton of potential on the table.

But how do you find the best staff?

How do you build a team that can make manage?

This can be tough. And it can take time. However, something that can help you here is a recruitment drive. It’s something that you can do on a mass scale, to entice and attract as many quality people and professionals as possible, to get a sense of them, and to introduce them to your company. So let’s take a look at how you can host your first.

Recruitment DriveKnow Who You’re Targeting

Begin with, you need to know who you’re doing this for.

  • Who do you want to invite?
  • What area or areas of the business are you hoping to recruit for?

You need to define your target audience here so that you can tailor the event to those roles and market to the most suitable candidates.

Set A Goal

And then you need a goal.

  • What do YOU want out of this?
  • What are you trying to achieve?

Event goals may seem complicated, but they’re not. You just need to know why you’re doing this drive, and how many sign-ups or interviews or followers – or whatever your metrics may be – you want to get.

Pick A Neutral Place

When all of your planning is in place, you then need to actually work on bringing this event alive. You know why you’re doing this, so now you can choose where you’re going to host it.

  • Will it be at your offices?
  • Or at a central location in the city you’re based?
  • Will you host multiple drives in different locations?

Ideally, the place in question should be neutral. In the sense that your audience will easily be able to get to it. Remember, you want to entice them here and not give them any obstacles.

Research The Right Equipment

When you’ve got your spot, you need to get it ready. And this will involve a ton of research to find the best companies and set up you need. For this, you could check these guys out as well as the specialist event stand companies that can get some kind of layout in place for you.

Just make sure that you are building an event that looks the part, rather than something that looks amateur.

Get Your Promotional Material Together

And then it’s onto the other materials that you need to take with you. Because when you’re doing a recruitment drive, it’s essential that you have all of the right promotional collateral together. Think about the brochures you might need, sign up forms, or anything else so that you can execute accurately on the day.

Create A Marketing Campaign

Then, you’re going to want to start marketing this drive. And hard. Come up with campaign ideas that are different and interesting and captivating. Make sure that your audience KNOWS that you’re having this event. And make them HAVE to come. Really ensure that you are getting in front of your audience, and getting them really excited to attend.

Invite Key People

From here, you’re then going to want to handpick some people that you want to attend. That guy you follow on LinkedIn? Send him an event invite. That girl you see making waves on Twitter? Direct her to the drive too. Do not leave your attendees to chance. Really look to headhunt who you want, and see if you can encourage them to come along.

Get Others Involved

Now, this won’t be the best option for everyone, but you could look to get others at the event too.

  • Maybe there are other companies that you connect with on a regular basis – non-competing companies, that you want to exhibit there too?
  • Or maybe you want your clients to come and talk?
  • Or maybe you want to get a catering company or an entertainment company involved?

Just think about who you can get involved to make the drive more attractive.

Be Interesting

But above all else, you need to make this work for your audience. Your potential employees!

You need to entice them. To awe them with your company. So do not just set up a stand and hope they come and talk to you or to your different team members.

  • MAKE them want to run to you.
  • Put on different talks.
  • Demonstrate what your company does.
  • Showcase your work.
  • Get your best team members to talk.
  • Get your clients involved.

Do what you want to make this as interesting and as irresistible as possible. Because if you’ve got the most amazing candidates to come, you then need to ensure you seal the deal.
