Cloud computing refers to the activity of using remote servers and networks to undertake work.

This could include management of data, storage, sifting, securing and more. As the world advances into digital time, cloud computing has become the new way of handling information. While initially, the company had to hire IT professionals to take care of technology needs, a majority of these operations can be now handled by cloud platforms.

There are two kinds of Clouds available;

  • Private
  • Public

From finding and handling employees, managing resources, storing data, keeping the company wired – operational and connected to the market, managers, and CEOs face a lot of challenges in the workplace. But, with diligent cloud services, these resources can be handled quickly and securely.

There are a number of benefits of using these tools:

Work efficiency

In the today’s work, data is everything and with big data entering the picture, managers need something more robust than human skills and simple Excel spreadsheets to keep track of all the information.

This is where cloud platforms come in.

Not only do these platforms circumvent the need for physical management, but they also make operations much easier. These cloud platforms can be used to keep a check on inventory, track employee and goal performance, run reports and more. These cloud platforms can also be augmented with various analytical tools, which helps managers make use of digital aids and manage resources in a more efficient manner.

Storage needs

Primarily, cloud platforms are used for storage needs.

Most organizations utilise various cloud architecture design options, such as private, public, or hybrid cloud networks, for the preservation of data long term. The tools are password protected to make sure this information remains in safe hands.

Usually only a handful of people are authorised to view these files, so any breaches can be easily located.

Private clouds are used by organisations to store sensitive details such as credit card passwords, work files, brand details, employee data and medical records. However, many public clouds have also been used for these needs in the past!

With super analytical tools, old files can be easily retrieved from hordes of data.

Remote networking
One of the greatest benefits of cloud computing remains the power to operate it from remote networks.

This means that the senior management team can still manage and check on information and employees working miles away. Cloud platforms also remove the need for large bulky IT departments. Even if a company hires a third party IT supplier, all the company’s technology needs can be managed remotely, saving on  resources, time, energy and costs. Finance and security

Cloud computing has revolutionised the world for small and medium scale companies.

These platforms are much cheaper than traditional tools. But while cloud computing has numerous benefits, security is often seen as a drawback rather than an advantage. There have been multiple breaches in the past and sensitive information and data have been stolen from these cloud platforms. Yet, this remains mostyl an issue for public clouds, as private cloud tools have improved their security and governance over the past two years.
